Almenara Golf

Almenara Golf has 27 holes allowing you to enjoy up to three different 9-hole combinations, Los Lagos, Los Pinos, and Alcornoques, all with a par of 72, so each game is a new challenge for the player. The fairways wander among exceptionally beautiful natural landscapes, amidst two large lakes surrounded by pine and cork oak trees, which take on a singular prominence.

History

The course, located next to the Los Alcornocales natural park, was designed by the renowned golfing innovator Dave Thomas and built in 1998. It constitutes an impassioned challenge for even the most experienced golfers.

Under the guidance of Manuel Piñero, the course underwent renovations in 2021, prioritising playability and environmental care. The redesign focused on enhancing the overall quality of the course by removing various obstacles, particularly benefiting players on the return leg.

There are excellent facilities at Almenara Golf with a superb practice area located nearby consisting of 27 driving bays which is the envy of many clubs. In this practice area, there are three full-length holes to enjoy, chipping and putting greens as well as practice bunkers.

The parkland course is 6837 metres in length and blends with the natural landscapes that surround it.

The focal point of its design is water, showcased through two expansive lakes bordered by cork oaks and olive trees, imparting an unmatched sense of tranquillity. With vistas of the Mediterranean and surrounding mountain ranges, the course poses a genuine challenge for golfers of every skill level, featuring deep bunkers, water hazards, undulating hills, and meandering fairways. Moreover, with over 300 days of sunshine annually, it stands as the perfect locale for a round of golf.

Clubhouse

The club house was completely rebuilt when the course was closed over the winter 2020/2021. The style has changed from rustic Andalucia to a colourful contemporary.

The café terrace still offers the same spectacular views.
