First inaugurated in 1997, the Alto golf course is located close to the small fishing village of Alvor near to Portimao.

First inaugurated in 1997, the Alto golf course is located close to the small fishing village of Alvor near to Portimao.

The course is currently operated by the Pestana Group and was the last course designed by famous golf course architect, Sir Henry Cotton.

Measuring 6,102 Meters in length and a par 72, the Alto course is a great test for any golfer and features dog-legs, elevated greens and strategically based bunkers. The par 5 sixteenth hole is considered to be one of the longest holes in European golf.

A great course to play if you are visiting the Algarve for a golf break.
