Amendoeira Golf Resort, nestled in Alcantarilha, Algarve, sprawls across 270 hectares of natural surroundings. Boasting two acclaimed 18-hole golf courses, one being the O’Connor Jnr, alongside a unique 9-hole course, it notably hosts the only illuminated golf course in the country.
The strategic design includes various water features including lakes and watercourses which are spread throughout the course, challenging golfers to demonstrate precision and skill.
Christy O’Connor Jnr. designed this course to perfectly complement its Faldo Course counterpart, taking advantage of its location in a fertile valley.
The par 72 parkland course was built in 2008, measuring 6,708 metres. Tees are strategically connected to fairways, but the course’s extended length, along with water hazards and large greens, adds an extra challenge. Golfers are encouraged to navigate the subtly contoured putting surfaces, increasing the strategic complexity of this golfing paradise.
The course has been meticulously landscaped and is adorned with mature palm trees, creating a lush oasis-like ambiance.
Perched above the two championship golf courses, stands the Amendoeira Clubhouse, a proud centrepiece in this stunning landscape. Boasting spacious changing rooms with comfortable lounge areas, a pro shop, lounge, bar, and restaurant with large outdoor terraces overlooking the courses.
The Garden Deck serves a daily buffet breakfast, while the restaurant serves all-day breakfast, lunch and dinner à la carte.
You can enjoy post-golf drinks on the spacious terrace that has stunning views over the golf courses or you can head to the Greenside Bar on the lower terrace.
