Cabopino Golf Course, Marbella

The 18 hole Cabopino Golf Club course may not be the longest course in the area at 5,198 metres in length and a par-71, but it certainly provides a good test of golf due to its tight layout in places.

The course was designed by Madrid architect Juan Ligues Creus and has 3 par-threes, 2 par-fives and 13 par-fours.

The 14th hole, a par-five, is the longest at 456 metres and has a wide, undulating green with lakes at both the front and rear.

Undoubtedly the 3rd hole is the most spectacular. It is a par-four with a high exit and a green surrounded by bunkers at a height of about 80 metres.

The 10th hole is a downhill fairway with a slight dogleg to the right and offers spectacular views of the Mediterranean sea.

A buggy is probably a sensible option here, although if you’re feeling energetic, it isn’t a necessity.

Cabopino is a golf course for both low and high handicaps and is enjoyed by players of all levels.

Located opposite the Cabopino Marina, at the eastern end of Marbella, Cabopino Golf Club is just 30 minutes from Malaga – Costa del Sol Airport, 15 minutes from the popular town of Marbella and 20 minutes from the lively resort of Fuengirola.

The Golf Academy

The Cabopino course also features a Golf Academy that is located at the entrance. It has fantastic facilities including a putting green, bunkers and approach areas and practice areas in carpet and grass, according to your level of play.
The driving range is 200 metres long,160 metres wide, includes a variety of distance markers for all types of shots and can accommodate 30 players.

The Academy offers a wide range of classes including private, corporate and special groups for children and women.

Cabopino Golf Dress Code

Unlike some of the other golf courses on the Costa del Sol, Cabopino Golf does have a dress code. Below you will find a list of what is and isn’t acceptable.

ACCEPTABLE

• Golfing headwear must be worn correctly
• Shirts with collar and sleeves
• Shirts tucked into trousers or shorts unless specifically designed not to be tucked in
• Tailored long or short trousers
• Golf shoes with soles designed for playing on the course (no metal spikes).

NOT ACCEPTABLE

• Rugby/Football shirts or any shirts that carry logos, slogans, numbers or illustrations that are not related to golf.
• T-shirts of any variety.
• All types of colour of denim, paramilitary or camouflage style trousers, combat trousers (multipockets), cut-offs or tracksuits.
• Sports shorts, beach shorts or denim.
• Football socks.
• Trainers, sandals or metal-spiked golf shoes.

Directions

Cabopino Golf is easily reached via the main N340/A-7 coast road.

If approaching from Malaga via the A-7, take the Hotel Quadalpin exit. From Cadiz, you will need to exit at the Cabopino exit.
