Key Features
Following an extensive refurbishment, the Montado Golf Course welcomed golf enthusiasts once again in September 2006, positioning itself as one of Portugal’s most picturesque and challenging courses. Notable for its capacity to host official competitions and golf vacations, the 18-hole, par 72 course spans 6,366 meters.
Set against the backdrop of vineyards and the flat terrain of the region, dominated by cork oak, the course creates a unique ambiance. Rivers and lakes further enhance its distinctive features. The layout showcases expansive greens and holes with distinct characteristics, with particular emphasis on the 18th hole, where the green is situated on an island, adding an extra layer of excitement to the golfing experience.
The course was originally designed by golf course architect Duarte Sottomayor and opened in 1992.
The course has undergone extensive renovation since then and was remodeled by Jorge Santana da Silva and opened again to the public in September 2006.
