Course Information

Penina Championship

Designed and completed in 1966 by renowned British golf course architect Sir Henry Cotton, the Penina Championship was the first course to be built in the Algarve region.

The 6,273 metre, par 73 course is considered by many to be one of the finest golf courses in Portugal and offers a challenging round even for the most experienced golfers.

The course is surrounded by many hazards including streams, subtle slopes, elevated greens, and ditches, all designed to catch out even the most adept players.

Its layout is highlighted by a unique arrangement of Par 5s and renowned Par 3s, providing both a challenge and excitement for golfers of all levels.

Note that there are handicap limits on the course which are 28 for men and 36 for ladies.
