Designed by American golf architects Joseph Lee and Rocky Roquemore, the San Lorenzo Golf Course opened in 1988.
Known for its exceptional upkeep, this 6,238 metre course has earned high praise, ranking as the second-best in Europe.
Winding through Algarvian pinewoods, the parkland course offers ocean views and mountain backdrops. Part of San Lorenzo integrates with Ria Formosa, with fairways alongside marshes and lagoons, home to over 70 bird species.
With a figure-eight layout, the course starts with a challenging Par 5. Progressing, players enjoy views of the Atlantic Ocean and Ria Formosa at holes 6 and 7. Inland at the 8th hole, the largest lake presents a challenging Par 5.
Navigate strategic Par 5s at holes 10 and 15, avoiding bunkers, while challenging Par 4s add complexity. Ending at the 18th hole with a green surrounded by water, it’s a memorable finish to a great round.
The San Lorenzo clubhouse is at the heart of the course, sitting in the centre of the figure-eight layout, offering you a warm welcome to enjoy the facilities that include the pro shop, changing facilities, and bar and restaurant.
The clubhouse Restaurant is the perfect place to tee your afternoon off with a tasty meal or a refreshing drink. Take advantage of the outside terrace that opens up to views over the tenth hole and driving range.
The facilities at the San Lorenzo Golf Course are vast, as well as the top-class golf course and welcoming clubhouse, the club also offers a beverage cart that operates according to tee times. This means you don’t have to wait until you get back to the bar if you fancy a drink or snack during your game.
