Located at the base of the Monchique mountain, near the town of Silves, from where it gets its name, the Silves Golf course presents a real challenge to even low handicap golfers who will find it tough to go round in under par.
The course is described as a course that has been designed for attacking play and requires golfers to be both accurate and make good decisions when it comes to club selection.
The opening hole sets the challenge with water hazards flanking the fairway on both sides.
The Silves Golf course first opened in 2006 and is a member of the Pestana Group’s portfolio of golf courses in the Algarve.
Measuring a total of 5,592 metres in length and a par 70, the 18-hole parkland course has a nice selection of par 3 holes, and the four par 5 holes are exceptional.
Designed by Fausto Nascimento, the course offers spectacular views, surrounded by typical Algarve fruit orchards and small farms.
