Benamor Golf Course

Benamor Golf is a classic Algarve parkland-style course located just outside Tavira in the Eastern Algarve. Designed by the legendary Sir Henry Cotton and opened in 2000, Benamor was the first golf course to open east of the Algarve, offering a welcoming layout framed by indigenous trees, open fairways and beautiful views of both the Atlantic Ocean and the Serra do Caldeirão mountains.

With 18 holes of par-71 golf over gently rolling terrain, Benamor is playable and enjoyable for golfers of all abilities. Its strategic bunkering, occasional water hazards and the presence of natural obstacles such as olive, cork and carob trees mean that accuracy and course management are rewarded – while the relaxed pace and scenic setting make it a favourite with holiday golfers.

Buggy notes: Buggies are available to rent and recommended by many players for comfort, but are not mandatory. They may be restricted from some fairways at the discretion of course management.

Directions

From Faro Airport (FAO)
Take the A22 (Via do Infante) east towards Vila Real de Santo António, then follow the signs for Tavira. Benamor lies just off the N125, typically ~40-45 minutes from Faro Airport by car (traffic dependent).

From Tavira Town Centre
Head south on the N125 then follow local signage to Benamor / Conceição de Tavira. Easy access and local golf signage make the course straightforward to find.
