One of Spain’s most prestigious golf courses, Finca Cortesin is set to play host to the 2023 Solheim Cup it has been announced.
The tournament which is held every other year is the equivalent of the Ryder Cup and sees the top professional lady golfers take on their American counterparts.
It will be the first time that the tournament has been played in Spain since it began in 1990. The competition has previously been held in Wales, Sweden, Ireland, German and most recently at the famous Gleneagles course in Scotland.
The luxury La Cala Resort here on the Costa del Sol has announced plans to develop a range of 56 luxury apartments costing around €13.5 Million.
The Harmony Development will be a joint venture between the owners of the La Cala Resort, FBD Leisure and renowned property developers Taylor Wimpey.
The project signals the commitment of the owners to invest in what is Spain’s largest and most prestigious golf resort. More than 320 homes have already been developed at the resort with the aim of developing a total of 1,000 properties over the next decade.
The popular coastal town of Torremolinos on the Costa del Sol lies next to the attractive resort of Benalmadena and located just 7km west of Málaga airport.
In the last few years it has been transformed and evolved into a mature and exciting resort with great beaches, restaurants, shops, boutiques and golf courses.
