Golf Las Americas

Ideally positioned in the heart of Playa de las Americas, Golf Las Americas is one of the most conveniently located courses in Tenerife and a natural first choice for visitors staying in the island’s busiest resort area. Designed by John Jacobs & Associates and opened in 1998, the par-72 layout stretches to 6,051 metres and offers a pleasing variety of holes across terrain shaped by natural ravines, lakes and the gentle undulation of the southern Tenerife landscape.

The course features two par threes, two par fives and five par fours on each nine, creating a well-balanced test that suits golfers across all handicap ranges. Water comes into play on several holes, and the ravines that cut through parts of the course add visual drama and genuine strategic challenge. Average year-round temperatures of around 23°C ensure that conditions are consistently good, making Golf Las Americas a dependable choice at any time of year.

The club’s central location – within walking distance of hotels, restaurants and the beach – makes it especially practical for those who want to combine golf with a full resort holiday experience. History

Golf Las Americas was developed in the late 1990s as Playa de las Americas grew into one of Europe’s most popular winter sun resort destinations. The decision to create a championship course in the heart of the resort area reflected the growing importance of golf tourism to Tenerife’s economy and positioned the club as a key facility for the millions of visitors arriving at Tenerife Sur Airport each year.

John Jacobs & Associates – the team behind the design – brought a practical, player-friendly philosophy to the layout, ensuring the course would be enjoyable for visitors of varying abilities rather than being a purely tournament-focused design. Since opening, the club has invested in its facilities and grown a loyal visitor base from across northern Europe.
