Los Arqueros

Golf Course Information

Los Arqueros Golf & Country Club

First opened to the public in 1991, the Los Arqueros golf course was the first course on the Costa del Sol designed by none other than legendary Spanish golfing genius, Severiano Ballesteros.

Measuring 5,700 metres and a par 71, the Los Arqueros course is as stunning as it is challenging, presenting a major test to both experienced golfers and those new to the game.

The course is beautifully positioned and contoured within the natural surrounding landscapes within the hills of Benahavis; just stone’s throw from the popular town of Marbella.

Each of the holes at Los Arqueros has its own personality and individual challenges and require a methodical and well-calculated round if you are to make your handicap. Many reviewers of the course online report that extra golf balls are a must as you will undoubtedly lose one or two due to the difficulty of the course.

Feature Holes

All of the holes at Los Arqueros present a challenge, but it is the longest hole on the course, the 6th which is rated as the most difficult to make par.

Many of the holes are tight, which means you will need to be accurate off the tee.

The long par 5 eighth with its tight downhill dogleg is especially tricky with an out of bounds area which finishes in a stream at the front of the green.

The 13th hole is also rated as one of the most difficult holes on the course with a high tee which will require a big accurate drive to the fairway below which is guarded by a number of bunkers.

Finally, the third hole is another gem with a lake to the left of the fairway and sand traps down the right. A tough hole that will require all your concentration to make par.
