The Penha Longa Atlantico golf course is a fabulous 18-hole championship course situated within the luxurious Penha Longa Hotel and Golf Resort. Strategically located in Sintra, a mere 30-minute drive from Lisbon, and a short distance from the beautiful beaches of Cascais and Estoril.

The first three and final three holes are laid out in a wooded valley filled with pine trees and granite outcrops, and the 6th to the 13th holes have been built on a hill offering incredible views over the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park.
Penha Longa golf course presents two circuits, the Atlantic Championship and the Monastery, both providing completely different experiences throughout the amazing hills of Sintra.
One of the best European golf courses ranked in the Top 30 Courses in Continental Europe, the Penha Longa Atlantico Golf Course was designed by the acclaimed architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. He artfully crafted the Penha Longa Atlantico Golf Course in Sintra, considering the sloping terrain and capturing excellent views across the Sintra mountains to the sea beyond.
The par 72, 18-hole Atlantic course opened in 1992, hosting the esteemed Portuguese Open just two years later.
Each hole on this 6,313 metre parkland course promises a unique and thrilling experience, expertly leveraging the natural contours of the terrain. The flow of the course is superb, offering magnificent vistas of Cascais, Estoril, and the vast Atlantic Ocean.
Quinta da Penha Longa holds historical significance as the site of the first monastery of the Order of St. Jerome, dating back to 1355. Over the past 600 years, numerous buildings, including the Palace and the Church, have been constructed in Penha Longa, visible on the Atlantico and Mosteiro golf courses.
