Golf Course Information

Santana Golf – Mijas, Costa del Sol

Santana golf was first opened to the public in 2003, however, it has quickly established itself as a firm favourite among our golfers and the many thousands who visit the Costa del Sol each year.

The Santana course is fairly flat with generous fairways, however, its considerable length and large American style fairway bunkers make it a formidable opponent.

The Cabell B. Robinson designed course is set in the Sierra de Mijas natural park, which means all of the Santana holes are stunning on the eye. The course is affectionately known as “The Seven Hills Course” by locals and once you have played the course you will understand why.

The Santana course was featured in our popular post, the 8 Best Golf Courses In Malaga.

A very friendly welcome is the norm on your return to the clubhouse, making the whole experience well worth the visit while on your Costa del Sol golf break.

Located in the popular area of Mijas, Santana Golf is perfectly located just 20 minutes from Malaga international airport. It is also just a short drive to the popular towns of Fuengirola and La Cala de Mijas.

The main coast road is within easy reach offering easy access to discover the other popular Costa del Sol towns such as Marbella, Benalmadena, Torremolinos and Estepona.

Hole #18

The 18th hole at Santana Golf is another iconic golf hole and brings your round to a fantastic end.

The hole offers some wonderful scenery so be sure to get your camera out and take some shots!

The hole has a lake along the right-hand side and a number of avocado trees down the left which means you have a narrow shot to the entrance of the green. You will need to be accurate in order to hit the elevated green.

Getting There

The Santana Golf course is around 6 km inland from the town of La Cala de Mijas but is easy to find.

Driving westbound on the A7/N340 coast road from Fuengirola in the direction of Marbella, you will reach the La Cala de Mijas turn off.

Come off at this junction and then head inland towards the mountains.

After just a few minutes and at the third roundabout, head to the right. Follow the road down the hill and then on your left, you will see the stunning Santana course with the river on your right.

If in doubt, give Golf 4U a call and we will be happy to guide you in.
