Golf Course Information
The Old Course was first opened in 1969, which makes it the second-oldest golf course on the Algarve. This Frank Pennink designed course is a little gem and one of the loveliest courses in which to play golf in Vilamoura and the Algarve. The course was redesigned in 1996 by Martin Hawtree, which served to elevate the overall quality of the course and at the same time retaining the existing layout.
Located just 20 minutes from Faro airport the parkland style course features gentle undulating fairways and meanders through mature pine forests. The course is relatively straight forward, especially the easier opening holes, which should enable you to get your round off to the perfect start.
The new clubhouse which was built in the late 90’s is where you can finish the day with a cool drink and a bite to eat while looking out over the 9th and 18th holes.
The Old Course featured in our recent blog post – 8 Best Golf Courses In The Algarve, and came in at #7.
