Designed by South African golf course architect Peter Sauerman, the 5,890-metre golf course at Espiche offers views of local vineyards and the distant Monchique Mountains, surrounded by beautiful open countryside.
Built as an eco-resort in 2012, the parkland course seamlessly blends into the picturesque Algarve countryside, preserving the indigenous flora and fauna of the area as part of the company’s commitment to a sustainable future.
Careful consideration is a must as golfers navigate the 5890 metres from the back tees, requiring a deft touch on the short game. Bunkers strategically guard most greens, and the expansive, undulating greens themselves demand a soft touch with the putter. Espiche Golf stands as a shot-maker’s course, where each hole introduces a fresh challenge, thanks to the diverse and engaging layout.
The Espiche clubhouse was designed by architect Nadine Berger. Her unique and striking design includes terraces and lounges on two levels, an inner patio garden, the incredible Gecko restaurant and bar area, changing rooms, reception area and a golf shop.
All areas of the Clubhouse provide panoramic views across the entire course and surrounding terrain. Cutting-edge technology and design have led to the creation of a space that offers a place to relax, socialise with friends while enjoying drinks and sampling delicious food after a great round.
