Opened in 2009 and designed by Jorge Santana da Silva, the Quinta do Lago Laranjal course was voted as the best golf course at the Portuguese Travel Awards in 2011. It also appeared in #1 spot in our own blog post review, the Algarve’s 8 Best Golf Courses.

The course is located 2 km east of the Ludo Valley in what was originally an orange grove and is surrounded by pine, orange and cork trees as well as a number of lakes.

With a total length of 6,480 metres and a par of 72, this championship course is quite demanding and will require a high level of creativity and accuracy. The course comprises of five par 5’s, eight par 4’s and five par 3’s.

The Laranjal course compliments the neighbouring North and South courses, so while you are there, why not play those as well to complete your golfing break in the Algarve?

When you have finished your round, be sure to visit the splendid clubhouse where you will find a bar, restaurant, pro-shop and all the practice facilities you will need to get your handicap down!
