The Ocean Golf Course is one of two courses at the Vale do Lobo Resort, the other being The Royal.
The golf course was created from two original 9-hole courses and features gentle undulating fairways that run parallel to a nature reserve and offer some stunning views of the coastline and the Atlantic Ocean beyond.
Two particularly demanding and breathtaking Par 4s, the 11th and 14th holes stand out as emblematic features of this course. These holes present formidable challenges. Additionally, the adjacent Par 3 15th, running alongside the beach, adds another dimension of scenic beauty to the experience.
The Ocean course at Vale do Lobo was first opened in 1985 and was the masterpiece of famous course designer Sir Henry Cotton.
The links golf course is a par 73 and measures 6,137 metres in length. Unlike the neighbouring Royal course where you need to be consistently hitting straight shots, the Ocean course requires more shaping of your shots if you are to shoot a good score.
