The Royal Golf Course is one of two courses at the Vale do Lobo Resort, the other being The Ocean.
Recognised as one of Portugal’s most prestigious golf courses, The Royal course features include the almost island green of the 9th and the famous iconic 16th, with cliff-top carryover. Arguably, it’s one of the most photographed holes in Europe!
The Royal is much harder to play than the Ocean Course, as there are more water and sand hazards here, and the holes are generally longer.
Designed by top American golf course architect Rocky Roquemore, the 18-hole Royal championship course was first inaugurated in 1997 and is sister to the neighbouring Ocean course.
The Royal course, a par 72, measures a total of 6,059 metres, and is characterised by undulating fairways set amidst pine trees and beautiful lakes and surrounded by wildflowers. It also has some beautiful and challenging golf holes.
The links course offers many great facilities for you to enjoy during your visit including a lovely clubhouse, bar and restaurant, golf shop, practice facilities, and wellness center.
